Samui Newsletter

Keeping in touch with postcard newsletters

You would probably agree that a newsletter, whether printed or electronic, is a good way to keep in touch with your customers and prospects. You would probably point out though, that producing a newsletter is both time-consuming and costly.

My tip is that if you want to grab attention in times when competition is fierce and stay one step ahead of your competitors, you will have to think outside the box. Take big business ideas and adapt them to small businesses. So, instead of a lengthy conventional newsletter, try a postcard newsletter.
Why, you will ask?

  • Firstly, because newsletters work! They have a proven track record not only for keeping you in touch with your customers but also for publicising your expertise to a wider audience;
  • Secondly, because a postcard newsletter only requires a maximum of 300 to 400 words and is much cheaper to produce and post, it is ideally suited to the more cost conscious and time poor businesses;
  • Finally, because they are less expensive and less time-consuming to produce, postcard newsletters can be produced more frequently, therefore ensuring a more lasting impact.

Remember though that to keep your audience engaged, your newsletter has to be attractive, compelling, interesting and educational, both in design and content.

The Apollo postcard:
Client: Apollo Developments
Objectives: To produce a marketing product that could be used to regularly promote the progress of the Apollo Office Court commercial development in Buckingham and publicise units still available. The postcard format was chosen because of its cost effectiveness and its simplicity, bringing the message across using clear and simple visuals.

The Meeson Williams newsletter:
Client: Meeson Williams
Objectives: To produce a newsletter that could be produced easily and directly by Meeson Williams and posted on their website or sent in PDF format to their clients and prospects by email. We designed and produced a simple WORD template, following the look and feel of their existing promotional material.

The WATCH logo and brochure:
Client: CEH Wallingford
Objectives: To capture the ideas (i.e. water and global change) and objectives (i.e improving representation of the water cycle in global climate models to enable better water specific predictions) of the WATCH project, an EC funded research project, into one logo and a project flyer.
